In case you thought we were really mad at Can’t Get Rich blog, we actually simulated a fight to see if we could bring more traffic to both sites. If you feel you have been robbed, please consider laughing it off. :)

We were inspired by John Chow’s post on There Really Is No Such Thing As Bad Press.

I think we could have gotten more buzz off this simulated fight if more users got into it, but it seems like it had a mild effect so we will be trying something else in the future. Watch out for surprises! :)

Due to recent slowness of sales, we’ve decided to open up pages for sale at one dollar soon. We will soon be implementing all the new features we’ve used on the new Quarter Wiki such as automated payment system and automated RSS Feeds. Once that’s done, the price will go back to one dollar until we hit 3000 pages. That’s right.

Why are we doing this?

First, our schedule was to have sold 2000 pages by end of November. Obviously, we missed our target and we gotta do something about it.

Second, bringing in more page sales will ultimately bring more content to the site and more traffic.

Third, we promised you you will get BANG for your dollar.

Don’t worry, once we hit 3000 pages, prices will hike back up to $30. We don’t know how often we will do this but we will probably do it every once in a while to help the page sales.

So, please hold on while we make some major hauling to our payment system and automatic page creation. In the meanwhile, feel free to grab some quarter pages at the Quarter Wiki as we have just launched the site and we are also working on some new spidering technologies that we will tell you when it’s ready. :)

Yey, we got more cool SEO stuff comin’.

With recent changes with our nofollow, we are startin’ to show up on the first page of Google.

With the recent feature being able to add individual RSS Feeds to a Page, we should expect to get tons more traffic from just Google.

The Debt Page is 6th on Google for “Debt Management Wiki”. Great job for the page-owner, Siva.

In addition to Pwigg being added for the paid wiki world, we have added a new feature.

Now Most Popular Pages are seen by User Votes. If a page haven’t been voted, it won’t show up on the Most Popular Page.

The previous Most Popular by Views is still accesible via the first link you see here.

Most Popular Pages by Votes

Why sudden change? We live in a Web2.0 world where people are digging. Page views are technology from the Web1.0 world and we figured it’s a good time to change to Web2.0.

Another plus side to this change will result in more user interaction to the One Buck Wiki. This will ultimately result in more traffic too. The system only allows page-owners to vote on the pages, so no gaming will happen or at least that will minimize it.

It simply doesn’t make sense to list the most popular by page views. That is history and we are moving on to the new Voting society.

Here’s how to vote:

Simple login to your user account and if you go to any page you haven’t rated, you will see something like below:

Most Popular Pages by Votes2

If a page has been voted, you will see the rating as seen below.

Most Popular Pages by Votes3

PWIGG

Our first web experiment did boost our traffic to something like 7,000 unique visitors per day but we found it had no effects on Alexa rankings. Instead of sending traffic, we are moving onto our new web experiments.

First, we have created a new site for page-owners of all paid wiki sites including Million Dollar Wiki, Million Euro Wiki, One Buck Wiki, and Five Dollar Wiki. We will be adding more sites of course in the near future but you can now go to Pwigg.com and submit your pages and vote on them. Although we are still working on the site graphics, you can submit your pages while we are making the site more enjoyable.

Sencond, we are going to be featuring individual pages on Zedomax.com, which has a good amount of power to boost all pages to first page on Google.

With these two changes, we should see immediate increase in Google search terms to the One Buck Wiki in the next 2 weeks.

We got Stumbleupon and keep gettin’ stumbled upon…

Again, we figured out why we recieved those DoS (Denial of Service) attacls. Max kept thinkn’ it’s a hacker but that wasn’t it!

The power of StumbleUpon has almost beyond Digg in terms of comparison with bigger social sites.

Max was watching this traffic and says. “Wait a minute, that’s not hackers, we just got “Stunbled”.

Wow…great job StumblUpon! You guys get my two big thumbs up for bringing us with so much interesting stumbles. :)

UPDATE: We apologize for any connection problems to this website. We are going to get the best dedicated server at Cari.Net to host just OneBuckWiki.com and FiveDollarWiki.com.

Once we are upgraded, we should be able to take even more traffic. Well, Zedomax.com and OneBuckWiki.com are on the same server and BOTH sites got stumbled crazy…. This must have made the first page or somethin’…

Yes, we have finally came to senses and this is the only time I wish people’d stumble slower.

What happened was that StumbleUpon traffic just burts in random series of time. If you get enough, that will turn your website off.

Eric was around when this happened, and says, “Wow, that was amazing, we didn’t get digged or dugg, we got STUMBLEUPONED, stumbleupon, stumblupon, stmblpn, stumbled across and upon, sumbled, oopss…”

We got stumbled crazy

Ooops, we were wrong about the DoS (Denial of Service)… We just checked our Alexa rankings and yesterday we hit 15,437!

We might have to move to a better server soon due to unexpected spike in traffic although our quad-CPU should be able to handle up to 300K visitors per day.
