New Feature - Who’s Online and User Pages!
0 Comments Published November 18th, 2007 in New Features, OBW News.As always, we have new features every other day on the One Buck Wiki. Although we haven’t made a cent yet because we threw all profits back into advertising and humongous server costs, we are still grindin’ through the week, weekend, and today too.
![]()
Today’s feature? We added a “Who’s Online Right Now” at the bottom of all our pages so you can check out who’s online! Another feature is that you can click on the users and find out about which pages that user owns.
This also helps your SEO rankings since whenever you are online, your user page is linked to every page on the One Buck Wiki.
The point? Log in to your account One Buck Wiki once a day and improve your search engine rankings and also promote your pages.
How do you edit your user pages? Log in often and we will activate your user page for you or you can e-mail us at support [at] onebuckwiki.com to get it activated quicker.
You can use your user pages to promote your own pages or even embed your pages in your user pages.
How do I embed my exisiting page into my user page?
It’s really simple. Just use the following syntax:
{{:My_Page}}
You can see an example on my page here.

We were going to launch OneEuroWiki but we are going to postpone it until we have figured out how to get more Google search terms to our site. This will be better since we are the guinea pig for the paid-wiki sites. So if you are developing some paid wiki business plans, keep going as we are going to help you but not right now.
We want to find that perfect match for Google SEO using various different MediaWiki extensions and playing around a bit.
So, hold on as we will keep testing what will work for SEO.

New Feature - Easy tagging
0 Comments Published November 13th, 2007 in New Features, OBW News, Tagged. We have a new feature that lets you add categories much easier than in the past. Simply click on categories that are similar to your page content. If a category doesn’t exist, you can always add them in the field as shown in the picture above.
Our OBW SEO Team says that the more categories you have, the better. Why? Since more categories linked to you means “more pages linked to you” within this site, this give you a higher PageRank than other pages. You can find which pages have been most linked to or find which pages have most categories. You will find that these categories have DRAMATIC impact on your PageRank score. PageRank is calculated by how many links you have coming in and it doesn’t have to come from an external website.

New features to be added to One Buck Wiki soon to go Web 3.0.
We’ve noticed that Wikis have not been the most SEO friendly animals among the Web2.0 beings such as blogs.
We are implementing some new features which will include advanced tagging and most popular indexing based on votes instead of page views. This will ultimately result in more users and visitors participating in the wiki itself and that we know Google crawlers like.
Basically, we will be turning this site into a Digg/Blog thingee. We don’t know how long it will take but we assure you that you will get BANG for your dollar as our technicians and hackers are working on this 24/7.
We will have new menus like, newest pages, most popular pages, and RSS feeds plus twitter feeds to make it all go crazy on the blogsphere and the world wide web.
We are glad that we’ve had no orders today. This is the first time in 1 month since our launch date that we’ve had no orders for one day. This will help us to focus more on the new Web3.0 features we will be bringing to you. (hopefully… :p )

We’ve removed No-Follow links so now you will benefit from SEO and linkbacks to your websites. Although we thought we did this before, we just realized we didn’t but fixed the problem within about 5 minutes.
Another great reason to invest in the OneBuckWiki = priceless

Check out the stats after one of our team members stumbled some of the featured pages. This is only stats for last 500 visitors and about 5 hours but over a long term, this could lead to 10,000 visits total. How can you help us get more traffic? Stumble all the good stuff on OBW. Whenever you stumble any of the pages, you WILL get 10,000 visitors from StumbleUpon in over 3 months. Since we have a team of stumblers who stumble all day long to participate in the human search engine.
StumbleUpon is already working with Google, Yahoo, Wikipeida, you name it. They ARE the next search engine. The most fun to visit a site. Get a StumbleUpon Account Here is you haven’t already and stumble your own page to start with.
As long as you stumble your pages, you will get free SEO from StumbleUpon. Wish they had affiliate program for signing up people…lol

Get your pages on the Featured Pages section of OBW Forum!
1 Comment Published October 29th, 2007 in Featured Pages, New Features, OBW News. We’ve just updated the OBW Forum so it looks bigger and nicer.
If you have registered under the blog, you don’t have to register again for the forum. The blog and forum are connected. (We are still workin’ on connecting with the wiki so…)
Check out the Featured Pages section where you can add your pages and add a little description and lots of tags. This will be very good for SEO.

We’ve run many websites in the last year or so and we’ve never complained about too many orders until we made OneBuckWiki.
We had 2 orders yesterday and that’s probably the least busiest we have been over the last 2 weeks since our launch.
We’ve already got 2 orders since 3AM today and we are expecting more orders to come through so keep workin’ on your pages and we will get them featured, categorized, and promoted right.
A creditcard is supposed to enhance the experience of buying, not get you applying for debt relief. This is why viewing free insurance quotes before actually getting into a home mortgage plan is always advised. The basic rule of internet banking is confirming the insurance quote before closing the deal.
Thanks to the slowing of page purchases, we were able to upgrade the site with some cool features such as RSS and took some time to go watch a movie.
We also updated some features on our FiveDollarWiki, which was good. By having two paid-wikis, we are able to experiment with different features such as buttons and if they work, we put it on both sites. (We also think that inter-linking between these sites are very helpful for SEO)
Wow, we’ve reached 21 readers today on the OBW! Thanks everyone for listening to what we have to say and we will keep runnin’ fast so you get all the lateset features on the One Buck Wiki.
Make sure to tell 5 of your friends about your investments on the One Buck Wiki tomorrow, this is very important! With continuous word-of-mouth, our site will grow and hopefully, one day, we will turn our lump of coals into diamond together and share the wealth.
