While working on the new EntreWiki, we came across this Dollar Stores Franchise ad. Guess what. Their motto is, “Get more bang for your buck! Own your own ASI Dollar Store!”. Well, I guess it’s pretty obvious for anyone to think of it but we just found it hilarious.

Maybe we will start a real dollar store if we sell 1 million pages. We will start our own franchise of Dollar Stores called, “OneBuckWiki Dollar Store”. Nah, we will just stick to non-physical pages that doesn’t need inventory.

Although we didn’t get enough sleep or rest this weekend, we did get to go to Costco and buy toilet paper at 50 cents each! (We usually go to the dollar store for toilet paper but today we decided to ditch the dollar store since Costco had a better deal.) We also stopped by Borders and bought some books so we can improve our site. We will have book reviews soon so watch out for that on the OBW Blog.

Yey, we got reviewed on JohnChow.com! We spent every penny we made on JohnChow’s review, so let’s see what happens… (well not exactly EVERY penny but a big part of it. 40% of about $1000… Yes, we are cheap…) If we can make enough sales with this review, we plan to put in some advertisements somewhere. OBW just sold so many pages that we are backed up again… Please don’t worry as most of your pages are safely reserved for whoever bought it first. There has been couple here and there that the pages were taken but we are not going to automate this as we go over each person’s account by hand manually.

We feel that if we can motivate the users with personal customer satisfaction experience, there’s so much more networking and a feeling of being part of something bigger.

Well, we just hope you are happy with your pages, if you are not, tell us and we will fix it for ya.

We will continue registering new people tomorrow as we have stayed up for 2 days straight… again!

The whole team has fallen apart by now from the monstrous weekend and we are still trying to recover from the big BUZZ.

Our secret? You are our secret. Page-owners are the power of this site. You can make our dreams come true and we can ALL make money together.

By having more pages, more keywords, and more quality content as we go along, we will be able to find out niche market as the source to go for very interesting stuff.

Isn’t that what it is about? We really don’t care to make money on the OBW but we want to make sure our brand new concept that was built on the idea of the MillionDollarWiki to go at least or above the estimates we have done. We did go above the estimates from the first day. The big question is, will we sell out 2000 pages by end of this month?

So far, the Click-To-Page Sales ratio has been about 10 to 20% on average. That means for every 5 visitors to the site, one page gets sold.

We are trying to narrow this down to a science and see what kind of effect money will have on content and popularity. We just realized the cheaper the better.

Max celebrated the BUZZ by going to the Dollar Store with his girlfriend. His girlfriend loves Dollar Tree Stores or any Store that sells stuff for a dollar. Actually, that’s when it popped Max that he should start a website that’d sell everything for a dollar. Maybe it’s good that Max’s girlfriend loves to shop at Dollar Stores.

Why does Max’s girlfriend “loves” to shop at dollar stores? Not because she’s cheap, she likes getting a good deal.

The couple almost bought a fish and a fish tank that was on sale for one dollar! The two had to hug each other for hours before finally giving up the fish.

The fish would have been nice to be named the “One Buck Fish” and we’d use her/him as our motto. Well, maybe they should really goto a pet store and get a real fish….

Thanks for listening to the rambling of our dollar store stories. We highly recommend watching the Dollar Stores around your town and see how many people are shopping inside the store on any given day. That number might surprise you. Those Dollar Stores are real money makers. You know why? Because the founder of Wal-Mart, Sam Walton, started with a dollar store (or something around that range the last time my college-fried brain remembers). Why did they get to so many people? Because it was ONLY ONE DOLLAR!
