0 Comments Published December 19th, 2007 in Dollar Humor, New Features, OBW News.
We added a new AJAX voting extension today that let’s you vote with dollar bills!
Unlike the old voting system where only registered users could vote, this new voting system allows one vote per IP address so you can tell your friends to vote for your pages if you want to get up on that list of high achievers on the One Buck Wiki.
This might be a lot better at filtering the best pages at One Buck Wiki since we can allow even visitors to vote on their favorite pages with money.
Go ahead and try it out and vote with dollar bills! ![]()

One Buck Wiki is bringing prices back down to one dollar soon!
0 Comments Published December 3rd, 2007 in New Features, OBW Buzz, OBW News.Due to recent slowness of sales, we’ve decided to open up pages for sale at one dollar soon. We will soon be implementing all the new features we’ve used on the new Quarter Wiki such as automated payment system and automated RSS Feeds. Once that’s done, the price will go back to one dollar until we hit 3000 pages. That’s right.
Why are we doing this?
First, our schedule was to have sold 2000 pages by end of November. Obviously, we missed our target and we gotta do something about it.
Second, bringing in more page sales will ultimately bring more content to the site and more traffic.
Third, we promised you you will get BANG for your dollar.
Don’t worry, once we hit 3000 pages, prices will hike back up to $30. We don’t know how often we will do this but we will probably do it every once in a while to help the page sales.
So, please hold on while we make some major hauling to our payment system and automatic page creation. In the meanwhile, feel free to grab some quarter pages at the Quarter Wiki as we have just launched the site and we are also working on some new spidering technologies that we will tell you when it’s ready. ![]()

New Feature - How to add RSS Feed to your Page!
1 Comment Published November 26th, 2007 in New Features, OBW News, RSS.As we always do 4 or 5 in the morning, we are hacking new stuff up on the One Buck Wiki.
Today, we will show you how you can easily add RSS Feeds to your page and also ping it all over the blogsphere.
What’s good about this? It gets each of your pages more visible by various search engines including Google.
Basically, we’ve done this with our featured content.
If you want to make a RSS Feed out of your content on your page and ping it all over the blosphere and the interenet, here’s how you do it:
<startFeed /> ==Title 1== This is a sample sentence.... ==Title 2== This is a sample sentence.... ==Title 3== This is a sample sentence.... <endFeed />
After that, an RSS button will be create at the bottom of your page. OR you can even just add “&action=feed&feed=rss” on your URL or “&action=feed&feed=atom” for Atom Feeds.
For example, if your page is “http://onebuckwiki.com/Max“, then your RSS Feeds address will be “http://onebuckwiki/Max&action=feed&feed=rss“.
OR, you can simply just use the RSS button at the bottom.
WARNING: If you don’t use any titles, your RSS Feed will not work.
Then, if you really want to beyond it, you can follow how to add thousands of backlinks instructions on our QuickStartGuide.

New Feature - URL Change for SEO Optimization.
0 Comments Published November 19th, 2007 in Google Search Terms, New Features, OBW News.We will no longer be selling words with underscores but with dashes instead.
Why? This will get searched much better by search engine crawlers.
So, if you buy a page with the phrase, “One Buck Wiki” You will get “http://onebuckwiki.com/One-Buck-Wiki” as URL instead of http://onebuckwiki.com/One_Buck_Wiki.
We have noticed that using underscores are really good for nothing. If you have any knowledge upon this, please feel free to leave us a comment.
Pages that have been previously bought will not be changed but your keyword will not be sold with the new URL change.

New Feature - Who’s Online and User Pages!
0 Comments Published November 18th, 2007 in New Features, OBW News.As always, we have new features every other day on the One Buck Wiki. Although we haven’t made a cent yet because we threw all profits back into advertising and humongous server costs, we are still grindin’ through the week, weekend, and today too.

Today’s feature? We added a “Who’s Online Right Now” at the bottom of all our pages so you can check out who’s online! Another feature is that you can click on the users and find out about which pages that user owns.
This also helps your SEO rankings since whenever you are online, your user page is linked to every page on the One Buck Wiki.
The point? Log in to your account One Buck Wiki once a day and improve your search engine rankings and also promote your pages.
How do you edit your user pages? Log in often and we will activate your user page for you or you can e-mail us at support [at] onebuckwiki.com to get it activated quicker.
You can use your user pages to promote your own pages or even embed your pages in your user pages.
How do I embed my exisiting page into my user page?
It’s really simple. Just use the following syntax:
{{:My_Page}}
You can see an example on my page here.

New Feature - Most Popular Pages by Votes - Go Vote for your the best pages on One Buck Wiki!
0 Comments Published November 16th, 2007 in New Features, OBW News.In addition to Pwigg being added for the paid wiki world, we have added a new feature.
Now Most Popular Pages are seen by User Votes. If a page haven’t been voted, it won’t show up on the Most Popular Page.
The previous Most Popular by Views is still accesible via the first link you see here.
Why sudden change? We live in a Web2.0 world where people are digging. Page views are technology from the Web1.0 world and we figured it’s a good time to change to Web2.0.
Another plus side to this change will result in more user interaction to the One Buck Wiki. This will ultimately result in more traffic too. The system only allows page-owners to vote on the pages, so no gaming will happen or at least that will minimize it.
It simply doesn’t make sense to list the most popular by page views. That is history and we are moving on to the new Voting society.
Here’s how to vote:
Simple login to your user account and if you go to any page you haven’t rated, you will see something like below:
If a page has been voted, you will see the rating as seen below.

New Feature - Robots nofollow removed from Index and Most Popular Pages!
2 Comments Published November 16th, 2007 in New Features, OBW News.Remember we removed Nofollow tags for links on all pages? Well, we were so stupid (yes, we admit it) that we forgot to remove nofollow tags for robots for our Index and Most Popular Pages. Thanks to Collin at WordHugger, he caught the error for us and now we have a very nicely search-able website with all nofollows removed.
Check out Collin’s new marketing blog here.
Collin owns the following pages on the One Buck Wiki: (Visit them to pay thanks for catchin’ the error for us.)
On the bright side, we also have the new site, Pwigg.com in the works, which should bring in additional Google search terms and thousands of backlinks to our site.
We should have more pages indexed by Google very soon due to the Robot nofollow removal and Pwigg.com.
