What is in a Brand?
Why have top brands been able to capture the hearts of so many people? What is in a top brand? The answer is likely to be very simple. The best brands are those that know themselves. What do I mean? To know a consumer is to know oneself, because everyone is a consumer. Common sense you say. But it goes deeper. It is not enough to think like a consumer, the brand must be able to portray how its strengths align to what the consumers want and how its weaknesses are insignificant in the value system of the consumer. So knowing your own brand is crucial as all brands have their strengths and weaknesses. So self-cognizance is the way forward for branding!
